Welcome to Nay-Nay’s Space! For years, I have had friends tell me I have, a gift and I should share, but I always had an excuse. About two weeks ago, while recovering from a battle with the flu, God came to me in a dream and told me to write a blog, and as usual, I had an excuse. Did God know what time it was (3:30 am), did he remember that I am recovering from the flu; I don’t have a topic, etc. Well over the last two weeks, God has let me walk my walk, even though I didn’t obey him, he answer a few of my prayers.
Now I will not proclaim to be as religious as other members of my family, My oldest brother is a Baptist Minister, both of my grandmothers one Catholic and one Baptist have always been praying God fearing women, and my parents are Deacon and Elder in the Presbyterian Church. While I do not enter into a place of worship on a regular basis, I remain, as I have always been spiritual. Consequently, over the last two weeks there was a constant nagging feeling that I did not obey God’s instructions.
So today as I sit snuggling in bed on a snowy March Sunday in Georgia, I am following God’s instructions and starting my Blog. It’s my space, where I can vent, rejoice, scream, uplift and so much more. I hope you enjoy the commentaries and feel free to join in the on the discussions.

- I have been writing just about all of my life, when I was about five years old I got a tablet and scribble my first story. It was published but not in the traditional way, my dad took my tablet to work and had his Secretary type a neatly bound story. (he filled her in on my details) From that point on I knew I wanted to be a writer, however, on this life’s journey I have continued my craft diligently at times, while tossing it aside for even longer periods of time. Now as I am nearing forty-five I realize it’s time to pull my craft off the self and follow the dream of a five year old little girl. I am married to AJ who will be a source of many of my blogs I’m sure and have three children, Reggie, Jon and Brie. I am Paralegal, Certified Advocate for the Disabled, in the process of earning a BA in Psychology (June 2009). I am a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and in my spare time, I enjoy cooking, traveling, playing scrabble, board games with the family, and hanging out with real people and of course writing. I sometimes write under my pseudo name Aneesah and have plans to complete my first novel by the end of 2009.

Glad you are joining the rest of us bloggers and following a call. We will keep each other encouraged with our gift. Like what you had to say about Black Love. I think the difference is, that now mainstream media is recognizing it in our first family, but we all know it is what has sustained us for years. I am hoping however that this celebrated display will effect the hearts and minds of our youth.
